About Me

Like many people, I had a fascination with glass from a young age. From collecting marbles to playing with fire, I set my path in motion decades ago. In 2015, I discovered my passion for glassblowing at Square One Glass Studio in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Those initial lessons ignited my enthusiasm, leading me to seek opportunities to learn more. I taught at Classy Glass and Madison Glass Academy for three and a half years, honing my skills in pipemaking at InI Glass Studios. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from UW-Madison, I founded my own glass art business.

Since graduating in 2019, I’ve focused on production borosilicate glass for the growing global pipe industry. Practicing the more advanced fundamentals that come with water-pipe development and fabrication has allowed me to expand my artistic practice to new areas that include kiln working, coldworking, larger lathe-made glass pieces, and advanced shaping techniques. Scientific glassblowing has always been intertwined with my work and assembly process—the techniques I’ve learned from traditionally trained scientific glassblowers have been invaluable to my professional and artistic growth.

Teaching has been just as formative to my journey as any technical skill. I’ve learned as much through guiding others as I have through personal experimentation. Breaking down the complexities of glassblowing into approachable, understandable steps is something I truly love. Demystifying the process for beginners—especially those who have never touched glass before—is always a joy, and I strive to make every lesson both safe and empowering. Whether it’s through private instruction or public demonstrations, sharing what I’ve learned and watching that spark ignite in someone else is one of the most rewarding parts of working with glass.

Lesson Information:

These glassblowing lessons are designed to welcome participants of all ages and skill levels into the fascinating art of working with glass. My goal is for each person to leave not only with a unique piece crafted in the flame but also with a sense of accomplishment and new skills.

Throughout the experience, you’ll learn essential techniques in a safe and supportive environment. Every step is carefully demonstrated and supervised to ensure you feel comfortable and confident. Safety is my top priority, and I will guide you in the proper handling of tools, equipment, and materials to keep the process both enjoyable and secure.

Whether you’re trying glassblowing for the first time or looking to expand your skills, these lessons are designed to be educational, inspiring, and above all, fun!

Private Lessons for All Ages

In the standard introductory classes, you will have the opportunity to create blown ornaments, drink stirring rods, pendants, or watering globes.

The Blow Your Own Cup class allows you to shape and blow your own cup on a glass lathe. I prepare a colored base for the cup, and you complete the rest of the work under my close guidance.

I recommend taking the Introduction to Glassblowing before the Make Your Own Cup class due to its more advanced nature. However, if you’re determined to make a cup on your first try, we can make it happen!
